Background Information

Ark Translations (formerly Languages Direct Manchester) is a newly relaunched agency which provides bespoke language services, primarily, but not exclusively, to statutory and voluntary organisations working with refugees and economic migrants.

The agency was established under its former trade name in December 2005.

Some of our customers include: Young People’s Support Foundation (formerly City Centre Project); Save the Children; The Refugee Council; solicitors; Tung Sing Housing…

Founder and Proprietor:  Jessica Meighan-Ntsibat     

Jessica is a qualified translator and trained DPSI interpreter with over 3 years work experience of providing advice, support and advocacy in the social care sector – mainly to refugees and economic migrants.  She is also a Full Member of the North West Translators Network  (NWTN) and holds a Trinity Certificate in Teaching ESOL.

Mission Statement

Jessica’s vision is to create an affordable and credible ‘grass-roots’ translation agency.

Ark Translations aims to:

·        Adhere to a high standard of professional ethics and integrity

·        Carry out stringent procedures for recruitment of linguists

·        Provide excellent customer service with the ‘personal touch’

·        Develop open dialogue with the customer to cater for individual requirements and to obtain feedback

·        Provide the most suitably qualified and experienced linguist for an assignment without compromising on quality over quantity of  bookings

·        Achieve best practice and successful working relationships between the customer and designated linguist  

·        Encourage linguists to access Continuous Professional Development opportunities/ training courses

·        Operate a monthly Linguists’ Forum to share professional issues and organise networking/social events

How to Make a Booking/ Quotes

Please telephone our office Monday to Friday between 8.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and a quote will be provided by e-mail.

Before a booking can be made, an appointment will be arranged for Jessica to visit you at your business premises and discuss your requirements.

A minimum of 48 hours notice is therefore required prior to booking in order to allow for customer registration.
